After the success of the World Cup Pools competition we are now launching another Pools competition in time for the big KO on August 14th. This will involve predicting results for a range of games played between Aug 14th and
September 5th. The entry fee will be just €5 and the prizes will be decidedonce all the entries have been received.

Forms will be available online in the coming week and at the branch meetings on Aug 3^rd at Macs Bar and An Tua Nua and the August 10^th meeting at the Station House Hotel in Letterkenny.

EUROPA LEAGUE – DATE CHANGE

Liverpool will face FK Rabotnicki in the third qualifying round of the Europa League after the Macedonian side saw off FC Mika on Thursday afternoon. Rabotnicki claimed a goalless draw in Yerevan to protect their 1-0 first-leg lead and set up a meeting with the Reds. Liverpool have confirmed the first leg of the tie will be contested in Macedonia on Thursday, July 29. The return leg will take place at Anfield on Thursday, August 5. Kick-off times are to be confirmed.

The World Cup Pools is over, and what a success that was. Thanks again to everyone who entered. We hope to announce a new Pools competition before the weekend, so all those who were disappointed with their World Cup performance will have the opportunity to make amends.

Coming soon to our members once more is the opportunity to take part in the second Fantasy Football League competition. This league will be open to LFC Donegal members, friends and family but does require the participant to have access to the Internet to take part.

Possible Europa League Date Change

After Fridays Europa League draw UEFA confirmed that should both Macedonian teams FK Rabotnicki and FK Teteks qualify for the Europa League third qualifying round, Liverpool’s home and away legs will be switched.

This would mean that the away leg would move to Thursday July 29, with the return at Anfield on Thursday August 5.

However, should either Macedonia team not qualify, the fixtures will remain as originally scheduled.

Confirmation of any potential changes will not be possible until the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round matches are completed on the evening of Thursday July 22.

At last nights meeting in Letterkenny the All Red scheme and the future advantages to LFC Donegal that membership will entail was explained to members present. For existing fan card holders and members who wish to join the ALL RED scheme please click HERE and choose REPUBLIC OF IRELAND – DONEGAL from the drop down menu to be linked to the branch. This will be vital for securing tickets for the second half of the season and beyond.

The Cavern Bar welcomes LFC DONEGAL

LFC Donegal held a successful social night in the Cavern Bar Letterkenny last Saturday night. The name “Cavern” immediately conjures up images of Liverpool as this was also the name of the venue in Matthew Street where the Beatles started making a name for themselves. So it makes perfect sense that LFC Donegal members converge on the Cavern every other Saturday throughout the season as it provides excellent coverage of all Liverpool FC games.

All LFC Donegal reds are encouraged to attend the Cavern Bar this coming season. Let’s hope it’s a good one and we look forward to seeing you all there.
