LFC Donegal

The Donegal Branch of the Liverpool Supporters Club was founded in September 1993, and this season will mark our 15th anniversary. We have been affiliated to the Official Liverpool Supporters Club (previously known as the LFC International Supporters Club) since our establishment. Our branch meetings are held in various parts of the county (Ramada Hotel, Letterkenny; Mac’s Bar, Dunkineely and An Tuath Nua, Buncrana) where discussions will take place on up and coming trips, ticket availability and any other branch activities. All members are welcome to attend.

The branch organise several trips to Anfield each season and all of our members are welcome to travel. The committee will endeavour to ensure trips are as cost effective as possible for our members and will research the market to ensure they are noticeably cheaper than travel agents. Our trips usually include a 2 night stay in a quality city centre hotel, return flights from Derry or Belfast and all coach transfers to/from both airports.

Many members can avail of cheaper options if they stay less than 2 nights and arrange their own travel and they are welcome to do this if they wish to apply for match tickets only. Members can do this directly with the ticket office (usually it is very difficult to get through) or through the branch. The branch are not guaranteed tickets for every game, but have had a lot of success in recent seasons, having received tickets for the Carling Cup Final (Chelsea, 2005), FA Cup Final (West Ham, 2006) and Champions League Finals (AC Milan, 2005 & 2007) in recent seasons. The majority of our applicants are successful with ticket applications, but occasions have arisen where we have not been able to satisfy demand. Our members will be provided with a copy of the club constitution and rules once they join the branch, and from this they will be aware that certain selling arrangements will apply for the distribution of tickets for the bigger games, e.g. Man Utd, Everton & latter rounds of cup competitions.

The branch aim to serve the needs of all Liverpool fans within the County of Donegal and currently have supporters registered from all corners of the county; indeed we have many supporters from other counties also. The branch is one of the biggest in the country, with almost 300 members registering during the 2008/2009season. Members will be provided with information relating to travel and hotels and the committee will provide whatever assistance possible during the season. As well as branch membership, our members are also welcome to apply for membership of the Official Liverpool Supporters Club. In previous seasons, OLSC members have received additional benefits (e.g. free entry to reserve matches, 10% discount at club shop, DVD, etc.).
